A Family Retreat on Brazil’s Praia do Forte
Nestled within the vibrant coastal town of Praia do Forte, the Inaê House designed by MACh Arquitetos stands as a harmonious blend of family needs and modern architectural design. Completed in 2023, this beach house was envisioned for a mining family, comprising three siblings, a matriarch, and their six nephews, reflecting a space where community and connection are prioritized.
Design and Material Choices
The architectural design, led by the talented duo Fernando Maculan and Rafael Yanni, showcases not only aesthetic beauty but also proves practical for its inhabitants. Using local materials such as granite, marble, and tiles, the structure resonates with its coastal surroundings. The careful selection of these materials not only enhances the durability of the home but also seamlessly integrates it with the natural environment. As with many modern houses, the choice of finishes, like textured stone surfaces and elegant tiled spaces, plays a crucial role in creating an inviting interior.
Space for Connection
One of the notable features of the Inaê House is its design aimed at fostering social interactions among family members. Open areas encourage gatherings, while cozy nooks allow for personal retreats. The flow of space respects the rhythm of family life, accommodating both lively family parties and quieter moments. This balance is also reflected in the interior design elements, from spacious living areas to tranquil bedrooms.
